Additionally, the candidate will collaborate with global quality and food safety (GQFS) members to introduce and execute process enhancements. This role demands extensive expertise in seafood quality control procedures, plant inspection protocols, and industry regulations.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly qualified and experienced Quality Manager to oversee the seafood quality assurance process. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all seafood products that we import from different parts of the world into the EU meet the highest quality standards and conform to EU government regulations and food safety standards. In addition, as an expert in the field, the candidate will coordinate with global quality and food safety (GQFS) members to propose and implement any improvement measures that they believe will help streamline our processes. This position requires a thorough knowledge of seafood quality control procedures, plant inspection protocols, and industry regulations.

This role entails spearheading the development and execution of quality assurance procedures and policies for seafood products.

 

The Ideal Candidate

Responsibilities include conducting regular inspections and audits of processing plants/suppliers, managing new supplier approval audits, and ensuring compliance with quality standards and regulations. Additionally, the role involves monitoring quality performance trends, collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance quality control processes, and staying abreast of regulatory changes. Guiding and training the sales team on quality control procedures, investigating customer complaints, managing quality documentation, and collaborating with suppliers to ensure raw material quality are also integral aspects. Furthermore, maintaining technical documentation for finished products, staying updated on industry trends, and fostering effective relationships with suppliers and global partners are essential duties.

This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Biology, or a related field, with a preference for a Master's degree. Candidates should possess a minimum of 5 years' experience in quality assurance, particularly in the seafood industry, with expertise in quality control procedures, plant inspections, and regulatory compliance. Proficiency in HACCP plan and CAPA implementation is essential, along with a strong grasp of recall methodology. Previous experience in supplier quality and food safety is advantageous. Candidates must demonstrate initiative, assertiveness, and urgency, coupled with familiarity with government regulations and food safety rules. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, effective communication, leadership capabilities, and the ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams are necessary. Strong organizational abilities and multitasking proficiency round out the qualifications required for this role.
