About the Role

Site Manager role comes along with responsibility for operations, staff training, on call rota and emergency cover, written and verbal recording. You will also work closely with the production Director and direct report to Operations Director and supervise and direct duties of Senior technicians, Technicians, Temporary members of staff and contractors.Farm operations are undertaken as per the biological and sales planning of the Production Director.

Your main objectives are to make sure stock are safe and secure at all times via on call and emergency cover rota. Farm infrastructure is well maintained and recorded in co-ordination with Operations Director. Operate farm within budgeted costs and effective management of local team.

Key duties 

  • Organising and undertaking farm operations on a day to day basis
  • Clearly communicating tasks and outcomes to farm staff
  • Training staff and recording appropriately
  • Ensuring on farm data is recorded and available for on call and senior staff
  • Ensuring 24H farm cover is in place and well trained / managed
  • Recording of on farm biological performance as per Production Director’s requirements, and reporting monthly
  • Ensuring scheduled and emergency chemical treatments are undertaken accurately and on time.
  • Compliance with H&S, Biosecurity, and other pertinent company policies and ensuring staff continue to work safely. 
  • General maintenance and improvement of infrastructure and equipment. Supported by Operations Director and other resources
  • Leading operational and individual performance reviews
  • Ensuring professional confidentiality at all times
  • Perform related duties as reasonably allocated, both on farm premises and off site on project work

 

The Ideal Candidate

Practical experience in people, plant and stock management (Atlantic salmon broodstock)

To thrive in this role, you'll bring plant and stock management, demonstrating profitability and production success. Your knowledge of Atlantic Salmon Broodstock and management acumen is complemented by a strong people-centric approach.

With a proven track record in people management and development, you possess excellent communication skills, organisational skills, and a can-do attitude. Your assertiveness, quick decision-making skills, and understanding of cost models and budgetary control set you apart.
