About our Client

We are the national trade and marketing body for the Scottish Seafood Industry. Set up by the industry, Seafood Scotland are a small and busy team working to increase the value of return to the Scottish seafood sector through trade marketing promotion and business development support.

 

The Role:

Seafood Scotland is seeking an experienced and dynamic Social Media & Marketing Executive to lead our social media efforts and drive the promotion of the Scottish seafood industry on various digital platforms. As a key member of our marketing team, you will support the heads of trade marketing in developing and executing comprehensive strategies in the UK and abroad to enhance brand awareness, engagement, and industry presence.

 

Responsibilities:

Social Media Management: Oversee the planning, creation, and scheduling of engaging content across all social media platforms. Monitor social media performance, analyse metrics, and provide insights to improve engagement and ROI.
Strategy Development: Develop and implement comprehensive social media strategies that align with Seafood Scotland's goals and objectives, targeting both domestic and international markets.
Content Creation: Lead and coordinate content creation efforts, including photography, videos, blog posts, newsletters, infographics, and other digital assets to showcase the very best of the Scottish seafood industry.
Paid Social: Leverage paid social to execute targeted advertising campaigns on platforms such as Instagram, and LinkedIn, maximising reach, and conversions.
Photography: Utilise photography skills to capture stunning and visually appealing images of seafood products, culinary experiences, and industry events.
Copywriting Skills: Draw on exceptional copywriting skills to craft compelling marketing materials, effectively communicating the value and stories behind the Scottish seafood industry.
Brand Champion: Act as a brand champion, upholding brand consistency and ensuring all marketing communications adhere to the brand guidelines, reinforcing Seafood Scotland's identity and positioning.
Community Management: Develop digital community engagement strategy in line with marketing objectives to cultivate a community of advocates across our audience segments and networks.
Market Research and Insights: Conduct in-depth market research, competitor analysis, and stay updated with industry trends to identify growth opportunities and potential areas of improvement.
Trade & Event Support: Support the senior team in delivering trade development activity across all markets helping to activate the trade development strategy, which may include in-person support in our global markets.
Analytics and Reporting: Utilise analytics tools to measure marketing performance, generate regular reports, and provide data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement.

 

Requirements:

Essential

Education: A relevant digital or social qualification.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in marketing and social media management, with at least 2 years developing social strategy.
Social Media Expertise: Proven track record of developing successful social media strategies and managing social media accounts for brands, with a strong understanding of the latest trends and best practices.
Content Creation Skills: Proficiency in content creation, including photography and videography, to produce visually appealing and engaging marketing assets.
Copywriting Skills: Exceptional copywriting skills, with the ability to craft compelling and persuasive marketing content that resonates with the target audience.
Brand Champion: Adept at championing the brand's identity, values, and messaging across all marketing initiatives. Ability and confidence to engage and coach colleagues of all levels.
Industry Knowledge: Food and drink industry experience in the premium segment.
Excellent Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas effectively to various stakeholders and the ability to build rapport with new contacts at pace.
Multitasking and Time Management: Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
Full UK Driving Licence and access to own car.

 

Desirable

Education: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team, fostering creativity and excellence in marketing initiatives.
Industry Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of the seafood industry, its challenges, and opportunities, along with a genuine passion for promoting sustainable practices.
