Job Description

This is as exciting opportunity for a drive business developer or sales focused person.

The over-arching objective for the role is to ensure that GFPS maximizes its sales growth opportunities in the development of Aquaculture land-based RAS projects globally. One clear hot spot located largely around the technologies leaders in Norway and to a lesser extent, Denmark.

About our Client

GF – with its three divisions GF Piping Systems, GF Casting Solutions, and GF Machining Solutions – offers products and solutions that enable the safe transport of liquids and gases, as well as lightweight casting components and high-precision manufacturing technologies. As a sustainability and innovation leader, GF strives to achieve profitable growth while offering superior value to its customers for more than 200 years. Founded in 1802, the Corporation is headquartered in Switzerland and present in 34 countries with 138 companies, 60 of which are production companies with 83 facilities. GF’s 15’207 employees worldwide generated sales of CHF 3’998 million in 2022.

The Role

With an estimated RAS capex of 22B Euros by 20230, an addressable market of approximately 1.1B Euros and potential sales volume of 110M Euros for GF, there is a significant opportunity present. The uptick in investments is driven by global fish supplies being stressed, as demand grows in line with population growth and increasing demand for fish protein, further deepened by increasing per capita wealth. Currently industry answers this increased demand via traditional sea capture and marine based aquaculture methods – both of which are at their peak and will not rise further. This is as a result of government pressure on the industry to protect the marine ecosystems. Therefore the trend is for closed water systems on land – which is a significant opportunity for plastics solutions, PA and OSM.

The role requires the careful application of highly specialized knowledge of the sales process which is complex, to avoid that GFPS`s Sales Companies (SCs) continue to miss sales opportunities due to a lack of knowledge and access to its unique sales process and specialist network. Aquaculture`s RAS systems buying center is complex and multi-national. With technology leaders, EPCs, Operators, Consultants, Installers and OEM`s spread over many countries. This requires a global setup to leverage market intelligence and to cover the buying center correctly for specified work and to ultimately win projects and sales in the SCs.

The Business Development process at GFPS is one that starts with the Business Case – a strategic review of the market and how GFPS should organise, resource and act to reach the best possible sales result. The roll out the business case is the Commercialisation phase, where GoToMarket Plans are developed and executed on a local, regional and global level and the necessary resources in portfolio and sales channels are realised. The end goal is that the SCs move from a partner SC and then onto a level of sustainable independence and maturity

The Ideal Candidate

Highly experienced Business Development skill set, with a proven successful track record of delivering sales growth in the Aquaculture and RAS systems with a relevant organisation. Knowledge and experienced overview of all planned and announced build projects of global RAS plants. Highly specialised, specific knowledge of the sales process within the building of RAS Plants. Personal knowledge of, and access to, the entire Aquaculture network of stakeholders, including the Owners/Operators, technogy leaders, main contractors, sub-contractors and engineering houses.
