We are looking for a motivated Sales Representative with strong food and seafood knowledge and exceptional sales skills. You should be passionate about promoting a portfolio of seafood and food related products. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and negotiation abilities, along with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively are essential.

Today, they are a leading seafood distributor in the country servicing independents, clubs, hotels, casinos, taverns and retail markets in Ohio, Western Pennsylvania and Kentucky. About the Role

Responsible for developing all customer accounts within assigned territory, which includes; regular contact to assess customer needs and wants, presenting new and varied product offerings to upsell accounts, insuring customer needs are met on a timely basis, troubleshooting and follow-up to insure all customer orders and needs are completed.  Manage all sales paperwork and administration by end of week.  Plan daily schedules to service account base weekly.  Grow accounts and generate new business through up-selling and generating new prospects and product placements through cold calls and referrals.  The position will need to work effectively across departments to ensure a great customer experience from introduction to order to delivery of product all while using your exceptional sales skills attained over your career.

  • Execute weekly road/sales schedule submitted to VP of Sales via company CRM, mindful of capturing accounts that have the potential to generate over $40,000.00 per year, open 3 new accounts monthly, 5 full line Program presentations monthly with other established Sales Expectations
  • Engage and develop new accounts (target) as well as strategic.
  • Analytical review of self-sales work with Director of Sales and technical understanding within company Fish platforms, Enterprise Café, Firefly, Teams, Zoho CRM Systems
  • Accurately process sales requests, samples, orders, delivery times, new bids, special prices selections. Complete and submit customer orders and special orders in timely fashion, view orders for accuracy in date, quantity, margin, drop size thru your forecast screen
  • Coordinate personal goals with company-focused goals for each client visit to meet specific target numbers and associated budget numbers
  • Identify client needs. Provide new ideas and solutions weekly through continuous up-selling by introducing new product offerings in all product categories with the help of FOCUS 5.
  • Prepare for each client visit with knowledge of menu pre planning needs;  consultative sell for new menu placements by sampling new product offerings and providing custom sell sheets for presentations; consistent follow-up for future orders
  • Communicate with logistics team on a constant basis to insure timely delivery and to meet customer expectations
  • Attend company and or industry/association functions as assigned.
  • Work with the fillet room team to ensure customer orders are accurately filled with proper cuts and specifications.
  • Work with Purchasing and Management teams to identify, discuss items that could be profitable sellers for company from experiences.
  • Complete sales reporting in CRM, Weekly Friday Director of Sales week update, monthly reporting to Management team in a timely manner, not to exceed deadline dates. Zoho CRM is expected to be finished daily.
  • Communicate weekly schedules to office manager as well as update in weekly reporting. Cover office as needed for vacation, answer phone calls, and/or provide support to retail team if store experiences a surge in business.  Provide assistance, as needed, to seasonal market demands, which may include Lent season, Clambake season and Holiday seasonal business along with any in-house warehouse open houses or dock sales
  • Educate self-industry knowledge through reading trade materials, seminar attendance and ride-along.
  • Build trust and demonstrate accountability to meet customer needs through regular follow-up and correspondence through personal visits, phone calls, emails or text
  • Reviewing your orders at end of business for accuracy regardless of who processes them


The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be a seafood sales driven specialist who loves customer contact, thrives on communication, can create strong relationships, and know their clients inside and out. Someone who can run with initiative and thrives on the hunt for sales. Ideally you will come from an seafood sales background.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in sales/marketing or related degree or equivalent experience
  • Time management skills
  • Intimate technical understanding of computer functions, Microsoft 365 Suite
  • Problem solving skills
  • Ability to self-motivate
  • Sales Management experience
  • Experience in the food industry
  • Excellent organizational skills; ability to accurately complete administrative duties
  • Must be self-directed, able to work independently
  • Strong communication skills and professional self-presentation
  • Valid driver’s license
