Job Description

We're looking for an experienced, creative, and success-oriented Commercial Director to lead the company’s sales efforts, and fully integrate with management of our marketing efforts.

Noray Seafood is an innovative aquaculture company that is redefining the shrimp farming industry with its indoor and land based farming technology using artificial saltwater. It recycles 100% of the water and is located near its target markets, making it a sustainable alternative to traditional farming. By controlling the full production sequence it ensures an ultra fresh sushi grade product with 1 hr from harvest to packaging that can be delivered to Spain and neighbouring countries within 48 hours, a truly new category for the seafood market.

Inspired by the excellent quality of our shrimps, at Noray we work every day to farm, in an entirely natural and sustainable manner; the very best shrimp, free from sulphites and antibiotics in our farm located at the centre of the Valladolid plateau. A shrimp with a name of its own, of high culinary value and Spanish.

Following years of investment in R&D, and the work put in by our team, we can proudly say that we are a benchmark for sustainable aquaculture in Europe with a 100% vertical integration through all our production processes. Therefore, our efforts towards sustainability has been recognised with the ASC certification, making us the first and only indoor shrimp farm in the world to obtain this certification.

The Role

The position will entail managing an established team and report directly to the Chief Operating and Financial Officer. The role is an opportunity to shape the development of a unique product and brand within the sustainable seafood category as the company is positioning up for pan European growth.

The candidate should have significant strategic experience within building sales expansion strategies within the sustainable food sector, ideally seafood, in the European region, possess outstanding communication skills and care deeply for sustainability. The candidate should have a keen eye for the current trends within the industry and have experience with building strategies and reporting criteria to senior management. The candidate should have an excellent commercial and structured approach to be able to enhance the company’s current strategic approach, and be willing to bring new ideas and network to facilitate future growth. 


As the Commercial Director, you will be working with:

  • Managing all Sales efforts of the company and integrate with management of Marketing
  • Establish and enhance the go-to-market strategy
  • Build regular performance reporting criteria
  • Provide input to senior management on budgeting and forecast plans
  • Be involved with Board reporting
  • Position the brand and products within the retail and HoReCa markets
  • Customer leads execution plan
  • Responsible for delivering results in accordance with pre-defined strategy
  • Support senior management with business development
  • Drive all the customer facing efforts
  • Further build out the team with proven growth

 

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have a successful track record of delivering profitable business growth in the seafood/food sector in Spain. A comprehensive knowledge of key players and networks within the aquaculture sector is also essential for this role. You will be extremely commercially minded and customer focused, possessing outstanding client management and business development skills.

  • 5 years + experience within a similar role or within the seafood/food sector in Spain and neighboring regions
  • Highly results oriented
  • Very creative mindset
  • Ability to bring value immediately through network and experience
  • Excellent organizational, time management and presentation skills
  • High communication and interpersonal skills
  • Fluent in English and Spanish, other European languages a plus
  • Interest in the sustainable food sector
  • High attention to detail & accuracy
  • Excellent proficiency in Excel and Powerpoint
  • Interested to be part in shaping a fast growing future of food company
