Job Description

We are currently looking to identify suitably qualified and experienced fish health professionals with strong foresight and organisation skills to undertake the role of Fish Health Manager and cover sanitary responsibilities in order to improve production for our client farms and the hatcheries in Spain.

Role Description:
The role of position is to cover sanitary responsibilities in order to improve production.
The role main accountabilities will be the following:
  • Sanitary responsible in Farms and the Hatcheries of the group in Spain
  • Treatment application, prescription and treatments control
  • Design vaccination plan for the companies in the group
  • Farms and Hatchery monitoring plan supervision
  • Compose and update vet database and Aquamanager supervision
  • Carry out company fish health reports (reporting, planning specific disease control strategy, trials proposals, morbidity and mortality analysis)
  • External audit support – Sanitary issues with clients
  • Certifications- Fish health issues (Global GAP, Organic, Halal, ISO, ASC, BRC, IFS, HACCP)
  • ADS – sanitary organization management (communications, visits, meetings, annual sanitary plan)
  • Spanish sanitary administration managements – OCAPA; MAPAMA – books controls, PNIR, communications, periodic inspections
  • External providers management (fry, feed, medicines, analysis, vaccines)
  • External projects and RD trials support (Parafishcontrol, Performfish, IRTA trials)
  • Biosecurity and veterinary plan development and update (procedures, audits, registries, teams training)
  • Follow up the different monitoring plan decided for the ongrowing farms and Hatcheries
  • Laboratory support for necropsies and health monitoring’s
  • Manage and support Fish health team farms and Hatcheries (work guidelines, priorities, reporting)
Experience & Qualification Standards:
  • University Veterinary degree
  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar production environment
  • Spanish and English language skills. Portuguese will be a plus
  • Advanced PC skills
